These tests are mainly associated with drivers who have encountered medical conditions that have or could affect their driving ability.
Our Chief Instructor provides driver training for the DVLA medical driving test appraisals are conducted by DVSA driving examiners at most driving test centres. Should you be required to attend at your Driving Test Centre for a DVSA driving appraisal. We can assist you in retaining your driving licence by providing pre- test assessments and guidance on passing the DVLA test.
The DVSA appraisal assessment it not that easy, therefore we would recommend that you take a few hours driver development in preparation for passing the DVLA driving test.
DVSA work closely with DVLA in developing a competence based driver appraisal for those whose licence is under review due to a medical condition. As well as assisting DVLA medical advisors in ‘fitness to drive’ decision-making the appraisal is designed to highlight weaker driving areas and ‘nudge’ the driver to seek further driver development. The appraisal's were trialled successfully during 2010-11 and was rolled out during 2011-12.
